CUBD Hosts China Global Medical Device Expo

September 12, 2018, Suzhou, China. CUBD hosted Senior Executives from Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, University of Cincinnati Medical Center and Med-Tech start-up companies for the Global Medical Device Expo in Suzhou China. Cincinnati Children’s Vice President Andrew Wooten gave a keynote address, Device Portfolio Manager Jon Brophy presented on panels and Acceleration Manager Aniruddha Puntambekar presented two CCHMC technologies and Jill Uhl from the University of Cincinnati participated in panel discussions.

Early Stage company guests of CUBD including Xact Medical CEO Andrew Cothrel and Sense Diagnostic CEO Dan Kincaid presented to audiences and investors during the 3-day event. CUBD Managing Director Jeff Holtmeier also presented and led panel discussions to the attendance of an estimated 10,000 visitors from China and the EU.

With more than 27,000 hospitals and 7 trillion outpatient visits, China has a voracious appetite for US Medical Technology and is very active in early-stage investing in US Med-Tech companies. The market for Medical Devices in China is estimated to grow to more than $60b in 2018 equalling more than 20% CAGR.
