CUBD Adopts School in Kathmandu, Nepal

August 13, 2018: CUBD visited Buddhanagar Lower Secondary School in Kathmandu, Nepal in order to volunteer, interact and contribute to assisting in improving the lives of the beautiful Nepalese children. The small private school has 71 students ranging from 7-13 years of age and many are working as domestics in homes nearby as their parents are unable to afford to raise them. The school is operated by volunteers with a minimal budget, a lack of basic amenities such as sidewalk and stairs leading to the building, no interior railings for the 3 story school and one classroom doubles as their ‘cafeteria’ serving a lunch of an oatmeal and milk combination. In spite of the circumstances, children were happy, singing and dancing and anxious and open to interaction.

CUBD has arranged for a railing to be installed inside the building to improve safety for the children and will continue to support the school and its amazing staff.
